Parks and recreation are administered by the Park Board Advisory Committee, a volunteer group of nine local citizens.

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programs and activities designed to engage a wide ranging population.

Parks include the City Park, 15th Street Park, Cancer Memorial Park, Barb Allison Park, and the Bowling Green Conservation Area.  The City maintains playgrounds, soccer fields, baseball fields, a basketball court, walking paths with fitness stations and fishing areas.  Shelter houses located in the City Park are available for rental for parties and outdoor gatherings through City Hall.

Two city owned lakes provide fishing and camping opportunities, along with a sand volleyball court and a rental pavilion for outdoor gatherings.
