The City Attorney is the chief legal counsel for the City, providing legal advice to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen, and all city departments. Legal services for the City of Bowling Green are provided through the law firm of McIlroy and Millan. The City Attorney is Jim Burlison.

The mission of the Bowling Green City Attorney’s Office is to deliver outstanding legal services to the City by:

Providing sound legal advice and superior legal representation to City officials to help them achieve their goals
Representing the City in litigation matters
Protecting public health, safety, and welfare by effectively prosecuting misdemeanor-level crimes
